Services Offered
Life Care Plans (LCP)
A life care plan is a comprehensive and individualized report that outlines the future medical care needs and costs that an injured individual will face throughout the course of his or her life expectancy, whether it be from a catastrophic or non-catastrophic incident. TPL’s life care planners are all Medical Doctors who understand the unique circumstances and situations faced by patients who sadly suffer with a forever type of an injury, and as such, each report is comprehensive, precise and defensible.
Future Cost Projections
A streamlined alternative to a full Life Care Plan. These reports focus solely on projected future medical costs and are ideal when a patient interview, medical chronology, or narrative summary is not required.
Comprehensive/Independent Medical Examination (CME/IME)
A CME/IME is a comprehensive medical evaluation performed to determine the nature, extent, and potential permanence of an individual’s injuries. The examination includes a thorough review of medical records and imaging, as well as a detailed physical examination. When clinically indicated, additional diagnostic testing may also be performed. Upon completion, a detailed report outlining the physician’s findings, medical opinions, and treatment recommendations is prepared.
The Performance Lab’s CME/IME Department is comprised of board-certified Medical Doctors specializing in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Brain Injury Medicine), Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Spine), Sports Medicine, and Internal Medicine. This multidisciplinary expertise ensures accurate, evidence-based assessments across a wide range of injury types and complexities.
Practice Pointer:
A Comprehensive Medical Examination and an Independent Medical Examination are typically performed pre-litigation on behalf of the plaintiff (injured individual). In contrast, a Compulsory Medical Examination is conducted during litigation for the defense pursuant to Florida Rule of Civil Procedure 1.360, as part of the discovery process.
